Ms. Usha Nepal was the first woman to be appointed to the post of CDO in Nepal. During her long carrier in civil service she was awarded with a number of awards and honors for her outstanding work performance. She was granted the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship for Human Resources Planning and Management, and consequently graduated from International Agriculture and Rural Development Department Ithaca, USA.
She was also awarded the British Council Fellowship for the study of Human Nutrition from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She did her Masters degree in Psychology from Patna University, India. Ms. Usha Nepal was affiliated with the Home Ministry, Government of Nepal from 1999-2001, during which she led a number of missions, including the National-level Coordination for Refugees and the Joint verification team of Nepal. She served as a Chief District officer from 1991-1999 and as an Undersecretary at the Ministry of Supply, the then His Majesty's Government of Nepal from 1987-1999. Prior to her career as a civil servant, she had worked as a University lecturer. Ms. Usha Nepal has handled several other significant portfolios successfully.
