Dr. Ayodhi Prasad Yadav, Election Commissioner
Dr. Yadav is a researcher and academician by profession. A Gold medalist in MA in Economics, Dr. Yadav holds a doctoral degree in the same subject. He possesses 22 years of teaching experience. Dr. Yadav is also an experienced administrator, a researcher and a writer.
Prior to his appointment as the Election Commissioner, he had held the position of Assistant Campus Chief. Apart from teaching he has also conducted several significant research studies in the country's rural areas.
Dr. Yadav has written over a dozen research papers relating to the socio-economic and political condition of Nepal for the workshops and seminars held in and outside the country. Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav worked as an election observer during the 1994 and 1991-General Elections as well as local level elections in 1992 and 1997.
He has seven books to his credit. On top that he has written a number of articles in daily newspapers and journals. Dr. Yadav has also received a number of prestigious awards in research and academic fields. . Besides, he is actively involved with number of charity organisations including the Nepal Red-Cross, Saptari Human Rights Forum and Nepal Bar Association.
