Election Commission of Nepal, as the Chair for the year 2014/2015 of the Forum of Election Management Bodies of South Asia, participated in the sixth meeting of the FEMBoSA on 1 and 2 October 2015 in Sri Lanka. The meeting was attended by the chief election commissioners, commissioners and delegates from Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan, Election Commission of Bangladesh, Election Commission of Bhutan, Election Commission of India, Election Commission of Maldives, Election Commission of Pakistan and Department of Elections, Sri Lanka. From the Election Commission of Nepal Honorable Chief Election Commissioner (a.i.) Dr. Ayodhee Pradad Yadav, Under Secretary, Mr. Surya Prasad Aryal and Section Officer, Mr. Yuba Raj Guragain had participated in the program. The theme of the meeting was “Autonomy and Independence of the Election Management Bodies” and besides the main theme, presentations and discussions were made on such issues as voter education, electoral technology, inclusive electoral management, use of social media and youth in election, strategic planning for election etc. In the meeting, the Election Commission of Nepal transferred the chairmanship of the FEMBoSA to the Department of Elections, Sri Lanka. The meeting concluded on 2nd October 2015 with adopting a resolution.
